Impro Jam
For years, De Ruimte was the home of the Impro Jam: a meeting place for discovering free improvisation and experimental music. Curiosity, connection, and spontaneity take center stage. The series, started in 2014 by saxophonist Ada Rave, is now being revived by Space is the Place on various stages in Amsterdam and Utrecht. Each Impro Jam is introduced by an opening band, after which other musicians can join in with their instruments and jam together on stage. So, bring your instruments! And, dancers are welcome too!
Muchmo and dancer Kenzo Kusada
For the opening of this edition, Muchmo shares the stage with dancer Kenzo Kusada. Muchmo consists of Nora Mulder, Nico Chientaroli, and Johanna Monk. They bring together various elements: spoken word, vocals, wind instruments, synthesizers, and prepared and modified pianos. Kenzo Kusada gives form to the invisible and creates a mysterious atmosphere with his dance and choreography.
