Carlotta Dalia
The Tuscan guitar talent Carlotta Dalia gave her first solo concert at the age of twelve. Since then, she has achieved victories at more than forty national and international competitions, including prestigious prizes such as that of the International Competition Niccolò Paganini in Parma. 'She plays like an angel,' it is said of her. She graduated in Siena and completed a postgraduate program at the renowned Mozarteum in Salzburg. Today she makes her debut in Amsterdam and presents a wide range of musical colors.
From Bach to Castelnuovo-Tedesco
Carlotta Dalia presents a varied program featuring original guitar repertoire as well as arrangements. Playing arrangements is not a sign of weakness for a guitarist, but an artistic statement: the guitar can adopt and redefine the most beautiful music. Bach himself regularly rewrote his pieces for different instrumentations; Wachet auf, ruft uns die Stimme is a transcription of a cantata movement. The apparent simplicity of Tárrega's Recuerdos requires a remarkably skillful technique. Castelnuovo-Tedesco, a friend of guitar giant Andrés Segovia, worked in Hollywood; his guitar music possesses a cinematic verve.
