From Hungarian virtuosity to Beethoven's sparkling ensemble playing and Mahler's monumental symphony: experience an evening where emotion, lyricism, and orchestral power come together. Together with the Codarts Symphony Orchestra, Sinfonia Rotterdam presents an impressive program conducted by Conrad van Alphen, featuring flutist Luisa Sello and soloists Kirill Rodin (cello), 13-year-old Yoojun Curts Lee (violin), and Shiran Wang (piano).

Beethoven's Triple Concerto

The concert opens with Doppler's Fantaisie pastorale hongroise , a beloved work for flute and orchestra in which lyrical melodies, Hungarian folk influences, and virtuos virtuoso passages alternate naturally. Next, three soloists shine in Beethoven's Triple Concerto for violin, cello, and piano, a unique masterpiece in which the instruments constantly engage in a dialogue with each other and with the orchestra. A special moment is the contribution of the just 13-year-old Yoojun Curtis Lee, who is already manifesting himself as a promising violin talent at an exceptionally young age. Together with Kirill Rodin and Shiran Wang, he delivers a performance full of elegance, warmth, and virtuosity, from the intimate cantabile passages to the vibrant finale.

Mahler's Symphony No. 5

After the intermission, Mahler's impressive Fifth Symphony will be performed, one of the most beloved symphonies in the repertoire. From the poignant opening march, through stormy outbursts and an energetic scherzo, to the world-famous, moving Adagietto and the jubilant finale, Mahler takes you on a compelling musical journey from darkness to light. An evening full of virtuosity, emotion, and symphonic grandeur.
