Katharina Konradi & Catriona Morison
Not one singer at the piano, but two. Soprano Katharina Konradi and mezzo-soprano Catriona Morison have been friends since their student days. They decided to record a CD together featuring romantic favorites and asked pianist Ammiel Bushakevitz to accompany them. Morison: 'Our voices differ considerably in clarity, weight, and color. But when we sing together, we listen to each other and use our technique and musicality to either complement one another or offer a different quality.'
From Schumann to Chausson
Their album ECHOES became a success, thanks to the natural and harmonious vocal collaboration between singers Katharina Konradi and Catriona Morison and their accompanist Ammiel Bushakevitz. The musicians bring the colorful collection of romantic songs from the CD to the Kleine Zaal. Appropriately, they open with selections by Schumann and Brahms, musical kindred spirits in the nineteenth century. Friendship is no guarantee of vocal chemistry, but with Konradi and Morison, that is certainly the case.
