Jeangu Macrooy
Jeangu Macrooy currently stars night after night in the role of Jesus in the musical Jesus Christ Superstar. Yet he makes room in his agenda for a one-off concert in the Kleine Zaal. He performs intimate performances of his own songs for four hundred listeners, accompanied by a pianist and background singers. Since his participation in the Eurovision Song Contest, singer and songwriter Jeangu Macrooy no longer needs an introduction: a powerful and vulnerable voice in the Dutch music world, with attention to his Surinamese roots. Jeangu is a welcome guest at Het Concertgebouw, he has performed here almost every year since 2017. He also shone in the Empty Concertgebouw Sessions and recorded an acoustic version of his Eurovision song Grow in Het Concertgebouw.
