Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra with Jaap van Zweden

The ever-convincing conductor Jaap van Zweden is coming to Amsterdam with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra. Van Zweden has been music director of the South Korean orchestra since 2024 and was previously chief conductor of the Hong Kong Philharmonic Orchestra and the New York Philharmonic. In addition to their well-attended concert series in Seoul, the orchestra also performs in major European and American concert halls.

Mozart, Mendelssohn and Respighi

Jaap van Zweden conducts the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra in Mozart's dramatic Symphony No. 40 and I Pini di Roma by the Italian composer Respighi, a colorful tribute to Rome. South Korean star violinist Bomsori Kim plays Mendelssohn's beloved Violin Concerto , with which she made a great impression last year at Carnegie Hall in New York—together with the Seoul Philharmonic Orchestra conducted by Jaap van Zweden.

The SummerConcerts powered by VriendenLoterij presents two months of wonderful concerts, from classical to jazz and from pop to film music. Top musicians from the Netherlands and around the world bring you all your favourite classical pieces.

We also present a host of young talent in our summer concerts, including youth orchestras from Ukraine and the United States, and top young classical soloists. After many of the concerts, we offer a meet-and-greet with the artists in an informal setting, or an afterparty with DJ in the Entrance Hall. In one of the world’s finest concert halls, there’s something for everyone this summer at The Concertgebouw!
