Alon Sariel and Baroque ensemble Combattimento form a dream combination in a sparkling program. Alongside Vivaldi's dazzling Mandolin Concerto, the program also features the enchanting cantata In dolce armonia by Carlo Arrigoni, as well as music by Barbella and Albinoni. A particular gem in the program is a mandolin concerto from an unexpected source: Johann Kauchlitz – alias Johannes Colizzi – was a Bohemian working in Leiden who Italianized his name, entirely in keeping with the spirit of the times. A program full of fire, refinement, and surprise!
