Hiromi

Japanese pianist and composer Hiromi Uehara achieved international breakthrough in 2003 with her debut *Another Mind * and has since developed a strong personal signature, featuring rhythmically layered compositions and a strikingly direct, physical piano style. She is now considered one of the most spectacular musicians of her generation. With seemingly boundless energy, she moves between jazz, fusion, rock, classical, and funk, always driven by virtuosity and the joy of playing. Her music is explosive, melodic, and full of surprises—as impressive as it is accessible. Hiromi was already on stage at the age of 17 with jazz and fusion legends such as Chick Corea, grew into a global phenomenon, and won, among other accolades, a Grammy (with Stanley Clarke) and the Japan Academy Award for Best Music (for the film *Blue Giant *). She also represented Japan musically at the Tokyo Olympic Games.

With her latest album Sonicwonderland, Hiromi combines piano, synthesizers, and orchestral soundscapes into a powerful, cinematic sound. Together with the Metropole Orchestra conducted by Miho Hazama, this promises to be a dynamic and captivating show in which jazz and symphonic power reinforce each other.
