What makes this tour by the HBO so special
The selected artists are going to blow the roof off in various venues throughout the Netherlands. What makes this tour so special? All study programmes of the Herman Brood Academie are involved: Students from the Music Industry Professional and the Podium- en Evenemententechniek programmes work together with the artists from the HBA to organise a series of explosive shows.
Floris Kegel
Floris Kegel is an indie rock/dreampop singer-songwriter from Haarlem. His new album is a conceptual work that tells the story of John, a character who also takes on the role of frontman during the live show. Floris Kegel combines soft, dreamy dreampop songs with fragile vocals, but switches just as effortlessly to noisy indie grunge songs, carried by a full band. In doing so, both the vocals and the distorted guitars go completely wild.
Vergilius
Vergilius brings grunge the way they are used to in Seattle. The band was formed in mid-2024 in the studios of the Herman Brood Academie in Utrecht. Fused by their love for anxious lyrics and raspy vocals, Vergilius has clearly managed to put themselves on the radar of the HBA. The four-piece formation – consisting of singer Jannes, guitarist Joshua, bassist Stan and drummer Johan – doesn't let any grass grow under their feet. Are you looking for heavy? Then you are looking for Vergilius. With a sound comparable to that of Alice in Chains, Soundgarden and Velvet Revolver, you can be sure that no one in the crowd will stand still.
Fietsband
The Amsterdam band Fietsband brings ska into your life in a fresh way. They talk about dancing, dancing on your own, cycling through the city and about typical city drama: stolen bikes and yuppies. With up-tempo ska rhythms, playful synthesisers and catchy lyrics, they ensure an energetic and danceable show that you won't be able to stand still to.
