Classical and jazz in one concert
Joshua Herwig (cello) and Janna Maurer (violin) perform a program together that moves between chamber music, contemporary creation, and improvisation. The program features works by Ravel and Bach, alongside lesser-known works by Frid, Weill, and Van Geel. Interspersed throughout are original compositions and arrangements influenced by Jobim and Mengelberg, among others. This creates a musical narrative in which contrast and coherence reinforce each other.
Musicians with a broad background
Janna Maurer studied at the Amsterdam Conservatory and performed in various youth and chamber music ensembles. She is currently pursuing her Master's degree at the Royal Conservatory in The Hague. Joshua Herwig is the founder of the ensembles Woodcraft and Moon Garden and is an award-winning musician. Both have developed into performing musicians who push boundaries between genres.
