Emily Li, better known as Emei, is an altpop artist from New Jersey who sings about life as a twenty-something year old to catchy beats. Since she is the daughter of Chinese immigrants, she decided to travel to China at the age of fifteen. During her time abroad she competed in Chinese Idol, and experienced a short period of fame in China. However, Emei returned to America after a year. She decided to continue het music career in the States to become an example for other Chinese-Americans upcoming artists, something she didn't have herself when she was young.
