brakence

brakence started uploading songs to SoundCloud in 2016. While his first tracks were a unique mix of arrhythmic beats and a dreamy vocal sound, his later work is better described as emo rap with lo-fi hiphop beats. For his lyrics, he draws inspiration from his own life, and he does not shy away from difficult topics such as mental health. In 2020, he independently released his first album punk2, followed 2 years later by his second album hypochrondriac. After this, he slowly disappeared from the internet, but resurfaced in September this year with a snippet 'ready or noT', the first single from his new album 'marroW', which was released a month later. With this comeback, brakence returns to Melkweg after 2 years!
