Bluegrass Jams
Jam Session
Bluegrass is an American music style considered part of the country genre. It has roots in European and African-American traditions and was the music of immigrants in the mountain regions of eastern America. The music has Irish and Scottish backgrounds, and its characteristic lamentations reflect nostalgia for the homeland and the hard life in the mountains. As one of the few types of folk music, bluegrass has a jazz-like structure: one instrument plays a solo while all others provide accompaniment. Ideal for a jam session!
The evening begins with a live performance by the band, followed by a jam session where the audience, those who have brought an instrument, can join in. But you are also warmly welcome to come without an instrument and enjoy the music.
