Alynda Segarra was born and raised in the Bronx, New York. At the age of 17, he runs away from home. Away from everything and everyone. After wandering around, Segarra relaxes in New Orleans. This is also where Hurray for the Riff Raff was born and in 2016 created the acclaimed modern folk album 'The Navigator', on which his Puerto Rican identity is central.

The 2022 album 'Life On Earth' is a new direction for the singer-songwriter. The eleven new 'nature punk' songs on the theme of survival are music for a world in transition - songs about thriving, not just surviving, while disasters occur. Successor 'The Past Is Still Alive' sounds like the next chapter; With modern folk rock songs, Segarra reflects on his life so far, in which no feeling or memory seems to be private.
