This year, to celebrate its 15th anniversary, Merain has put together an extra festive and exotic concert program. In addition to Christmas music from Greece, Germany, the Netherlands, and Ireland, you'll also hear songs from South America, Africa, the Middle East, and Asia! The classically trained trio has adapted traditional Christmas carols in original ways and complements them with instrumental music and lively commentary. The perfect mix for a delightful Christmas concert for all ages!
About Merain
Merain (born in 2010) is a Dutch-Austrian trio dedicated to playing folk music in a unique style. This has created a genre they describe as "chamber folk": acoustically played folk music in their own tasteful arrangements for voice, violin, and Celtic harp. Merain creates a relaxed and intimate atmosphere at their concerts, allowing listeners to drift off and recharge. The trio has released three CDs, performs in the Netherlands, Germany, and Luxembourg, and regularly appears live on NPO Klassiek.
