Clay modeling during the school holidays
You probably know ARTZUID from the outdoor art on display in Zuid. But did you know that they have also been organizsng art workshops for children during school holidays for 14 years? They do this at Community Center Lydia, the festival hub of 24 uur Zuid.
They work with a theme and lessons taught by an art teacher with the help of volunteers and interns. The children learn to work with various materials and techniques. Different periods of art history are covered in a playful manner.
ARTZUID is the premier Sculpture Biennial of the Netherlands. Every two years, approximately 50 remarkable sculptures are displayed outdoors on Apollolaan and Minervalaan in Amsterdam-South for four months. Everyone can view the sculptures for free. ARTZUID aims to make art accessible to everyone and create a place where people can meet. The 10th edition runs from May through September 2028.
