From rowing machine to basic course
Rowing is a sport you can do from the age of 10 to 90. The water supports you, meaning you don't have to suffer injuries while simultaneously using almost all your muscles. In short: truly a sport to grow old healthily.
At rowing and sailing club De Amstel, they have 150 years of experience with the sport. The clubhouse is located on the Hobbemakade, offering access to the Amstel River and the Amsterdam canals. The club has various boats so that everyone can participate. There is also a weight room to train your muscles and a space where you can practice on a rowing machine with a view of the water. On the beautiful rooftop terrace, you can enjoy reflecting on your sporting achievements.
Do you want to know if rowing is for you? Then come by and discover everything about this sport. After an introduction, you can practice on the rowing machines you might know from the gym. Afterwards, you can row a short distance in a real boat in groups of three or four people. Of course, an experienced instructor will accompany you.
If you get a taste for it, you can join the club on the spot and start a basic course immediately. You can try it out for three months, and with a city pass or youth pass, you receive a discount.
