24 Hours West: Workshop - Monsters!
The Japanese knotweed invites you to a festive ritual at night in the Slatuinen Natuurtuin (Nature Garden). Are monstrous invasive exotic species scary, or can they also surprise us? Join us on a monster hunt, taste a monster mocktail and create beautiful things from your monstrous thoughts together with artists.

An exciting plant
Japanese knotweed is an invasive exotic species. But is this plant really that dangerous? Or does this 'monster' have a lot of different sides? And how can we deal with that? You can investigate this during the Monsters workshop, devised by artist Dorian de Rijk.
Be inspired by professional artists who will join you on the monster hunt. Discover how other participants react when they come face to face with an invasive exotic species. It promises to be a magical, monstrous party!
Participating in Monsters is free, including your monster portrait and mocktail.
This project is made possible by the Fund for Cultural Participation and the Municipality of Amsterdam Stadsdeel West and Amsterdam 750.
