Medieval Society Monnickendam
The Medieval Society Monnickendam, which was established after the city festivities of 2005, has delved into the medicine of the Middle Ages. The society wants to spread that knowledge. The acts, which the Society stages, are based on authentic and serious elements, but are brought in a light and playful way and are especially inspired by interaction with the audience.
Middeleeuws Genootschap Monnickendam has taken measures to enable a safe visit. Buy your tickets in advance and prepare your visit well. Check the link for more information. (Information in Dutch)
The Medieval Society performs frequently and with great success at cultural gatherings or other events. They may stage several acts.
A sample of possibilities:
Portrayal of the plague outbreak (with rat catcher, plague doctor, plague sufferers, carriers, nuns and death) and plague funeral. The depiction of a homeless/beggar group with several striking characters (fishmonger, fish smoker, twig man, etc.).
