Hollandsche Manege (Dutch Riding School)

This location is closed for public due to there summer activities. As of September 6th, they open the doors again for public. Built in 1882, the Hollandsche Manege (Dutch Riding School) was inspired by Spanish riding schools. Completely restored in 1986, the school still offers daily riding classes. There’s also a small restaurant and rooms are available to hire for meetings, parties and receptions.

Unique place in Amsterdam

The Hollandsche Manege is the oldest riding school in the Netherlands. Even today, hundreds of riders still find their way to the Hollandsche Manege every week. The Renaissance-style building by the architect AL van Gendt was put into use in 1882.

Upon entering through the gate, one is immediately enchanted by the beauty of the building. The high inner carriageway with the balustrades and beautiful ornaments exudes the grandeur and allure of earlier times. The foyer also has appropriate decorations in wood and stucco.

In short, a unique piece of architecture in the heart of Amsterdam. If you want to know more about the riding school, go to the website for all information. (information is in Dutch)
