10 tips for 24 Hours Zuid

Hop on your (own) road bike for the kick-off of 24 uur Zuid and ride through a deserted Zuid and nature with the people from Ride Out Amsterdam. Come stargazing on the rooftop terrace of the NHOW Hotel RAI. Here, the Amsterdam Public Observatory sets up special telescopes so you can see the night sky up close. Volunteers are present to provide explanations and answer all your questions about the universe. Everyone is welcome.

Be surprised by the power of rhythm during the percussion workshop by Stichting Afrogrooves. Under the guidance of Mark Oomen and Remco Menting, you will play instruments such as congas, djembés, and shakers. You will make music together. You will do this without sheet music: the workshop leader directs the group using gestures. This gives everyone the chance to play along.

Get ready for an exciting game of 3x3 basketball at Museumplein. This urban sport is becoming increasingly popular. The matches are played in teams of 3 against 3 and are lightning-fast. The program includes several clinics, demonstrations, and you can also shoot a ball yourself under the guidance of 3x3 Unites.

In the round chapel in Beatrix Park, you will now find Circus Odesa, a new cultural venue. During 24 uur Zuid, you can join a guided tour of the building. Also, view the exhibition by Ukrainian artists or participate in one of the cooking workshops, such as a fermentation workshop. This way, you will get to know Ukrainian cuisine better.

Move Amsterdam celebrates the first anniversary of the Kids Expo Move Lab with a Rollerskating Disco for all ages featuring music by DJ Leroy Rey.
