De Brakke Grond places strong emphasis on innovation, cross-over, interdisciplinarity and artistic daring, aiming to encourage and maintain the dialogue between genres, disciplines and communities; a place where artists from Flanders can present their work and a venue for international exchanges and meetings.

The venue

De Brakke Grond's engaging arts programming takes place in the venue's varied and well-equipped spaces; the venue comes complete with a courtyard garden and an atmospheric café/restaurant, all arranged around a small square in the centre of Amsterdam. The rooms can also be hired and are suited to a wide range of uses, from conferences, meetings and commercial presentations to fairs, lectures, film screenings, workshops, rehearsals and even weddings. Large groups can also be accommodated thanks to De Brakke Grond's cooperation with a larger theatre in the area.
