The calm setting offers a distinct contrast to typical city venues. Green walkways and a courtyard garden invite you to step outside. Fresh air and the sights and sounds of nature are always within reach.
In-house chefs use organic, seasonal ingredients from local suppliers – including the estate’s very own garden – and keep dishes fresh, creative and rooted in the landscape around.
Het Rijk van de Keizer encompasses three spaces.
Eden is a historic room with sweeping views across the meadows. French doors, a sloped ceiling and wooden beams add warmth and character. It can host between 150 and 200 guests, depending on the type of gathering.
Fête is a cool industrial space with generous height and practical features that support many types of get-togethers. It has space for 100 to 250 guests.
Finally, the Courtyard is a green outdoor space located between the two rooms. It’s suitable for outdoor lunches, welcome drinks under the late-afternoon sun and after-dinner conversations on balmy evenings. And it’s perfect for breakout sessions and for groups who enjoy gathering in the fresh air or need inspiration beyond four walls. In winter, the space can be covered and heated. The Courtyard can accommodate between 150 and 250 guests.
Sustainability
Het Rijk van de Keizer’s bucolic setting is reflected in a strong focus on sustainable practices. First and foremost, there’s the food and drink. Seasonal, local and organic produce always takes priority, and much of it is found right on the estate’s doorstep. The surrounding gardens known as the Tuinen van West regularly deliver fresh fruit and vegetables to the venue’s kitchen. It’s evident that there’s a strong connection to the landscape around the venue. Het Rijk van de Keizer also carries mainly organic brands and products and works with mostly local suppliers that work sustainably and responsibly. Waste management and recycling policies are in place and the lighting is LED. Lights and heating are on timers and can be controlled remotely.
Accessibility
All spaces at het Rijk van de Keizer are wheelchair accessible, with the exception of the upstairs room at Fête. There is a wheelchair-accessible toilet.
Despite its rural setting, the venue is easy to reach. It’s well-connected to public transportation at just a 15-minute ride from both Amsterdam’s city centre and Schiphol Airport. And there is free parking on-site for guests that want or need to come by car.
