Het Documentaire Paviljoen

Discover a unique cultural event venue in the heart of Amsterdam’s Vondelpark – where history, creativity, and hospitality come together. Whether you’re organizing a meeting, presentation, party, or film screening, our characteristic venues – including a professional high-end cinema – can accommodate 15 to 350 guests. And the best part? With your booking, you directly support IDFA (International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam) and creative documentary filmmaking. This way, your event not only has a unique atmosphere but also a greater purpose.

Sustainability

In 2022, the municipality entrusted IDFA (International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam) with the task to reopen Het Vondelparkpaviljoen, the former film museum, to the public. Since then, IDFA (International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam) has taken loving care of this monument. We are working with the municipality on a multi-year project to make the building more sustainable and accessible.

IDFA (International Documentary Film Festival Amsterdam) is certified by the Green Producers Club and committed to a more sustainable way of working. For example, we rent or reuse the vast majority of equipment and decorations, serve only vegetarian or vegan food at our own events, and use 90% recycled paper. We encourage our suppliers and partners to make the same commitment.

Our Code of Conduct describes the values that guide how we engage with one another at our venues and provides a shared framework for creating a respectful, safe, and open environment for everyone involved.

Accessibility

Het Documentaire Paviljoen is located on the first floor of Het Vondelparkpaviljoen. All venues (including one bathroom) are wheelchair accessible. You can reach the first floor via the elevator at Café Vertigo, located on the ground floor. Restaurant staff will be happy to assist in accessing the elevator.

The cinema (De Spiegel) includes two reserved spaces for wheelchair users. To reserve one, or if you would like any assistance, please get in touch via paviljoen.service@idfa.nl.

For guests who have trouble walking and need to park close to the building, we have a parking spot on site (dependent on availability). Please let us know in advance to reserve.

Assistance dogs are of course always welcome!
