This seventeenth-century building, a national monument, features parking garages and hotels within walking distance. It is excellently accessible by public transportation and even by boat, thanks to a docking point right in front of the main entrance on the Amstel. Enter through the cattle gate, the museum entrance, and step into the lush inner garden before reaching the foyer.

Once inside, the interplay of open spaces and natural light creates a welcoming atmosphere. On the first floor, easily reachable by stairs or elevator, you'll find the museum café and restaurant.

The halls are located on the second floor, fully equipped with state-of-the-art technical facilities, including sound systems, lecterns with microphones, projectors, laptops, and Wi-Fi.

Whether you are organizing a gathering for 3 or 300 guests, or planning a meeting, conference, festive dinner, or walking dinner, H’ART Museum offers you the possibilities. Turn your event into a unique experience and discover how art, culture, gastronomy, and hospitality beautifully converge at H’ART Museum.

Sustainability

H’ART Museum is a monument dating back to 1682. It once accommodated some 400 to 500 elderly people. When the monument was repurposed as a museum at the end of the last century, much attention was paid to sustainability. For instance, innovative initiatives were launched, such as the so-called ‘WKO system’ (Thermal Energy Storage) in collaboration with De Hortus, whereby we ‘transfer’ residual heat from our building to their tropical greenhouses. We regulate the temperature in our building using the cold air we receive from De Hortus.

In addition, we installed 319 solar panels on our roof in 2019. For a time, we were the only Dutch national monument with a solar cell roof.

Accessibility

H’ART Museum strives to be accessible for all of our guests including people with disabilities.

The building is equipped with accessible elevators and ramps as well as accessible restrooms. Transportation for people with disabilities as well as accessible parking spaces are also available.

Manual wheelchairs and walkers are available to book before your visit free of charge.
