Gashouder

Beyond cultural programming, Gashouder can be rented at select times during the year as a venue for large-scale corporate events. With a capacity of more than 3,500 visitors, the iconic circular monument in Cultural Park Westergas offers a rare combination of scale and intimacy.

Opposite Gashouder stands the industrial De Wester, formerly known as the Transformatorhuis. As an event venue of 700 m², De Wester offers versatile possibilities with tailor-made packages for presentations, dinners, and corporate events for up to 770 guests.

Sustainability

Gashouder B.V. is B Corp certified. This is an expression of our commitment to having a positive impact on the city, the neighbourhood, our employees and the environment. For example, we work with mainly local and sustainable partners for catering, cleaning, audiovisual and waste management services.

Gashouder is a shining example of how we achieve our ambitions in practice. In 2022, Gashouder switched from gas to solar panels. Over 1200 solar panels have been installed, which generate most of its own energy and that of the neighbourhood. Along with energy conservation, we are also committed to reducing CO₂ emissions. Every year, we make a calculation of our building and mobility emissions. We purchase 100% green electricity, which means our CO₂ emissions are relatively low. A concrete implementation plan is in place for the coming years to make the listed buildings, events and organisation even more sustainable.

Accessibility

With great partners and programming, we make art and culture accessible to local and international guests. Together, we want to take better care of people, the city and nature. Our Westergas Foundation represents this commitment. Gashouder and partners make annual donations to the Foundation to finance arts and culture initiatives for the neighbourhood, talent development and making its programming more accessible.
