Philip Glass in India Amsterdam Sinfonietta
Minimal music composer Philip Glass wrote his violin concerto The American Four Seasons as a companion piece to Vivaldi's famous The Four Seasons. Glass became fascinated by Indian music as early as the 1960s. In the Indian ragas the seasons have their specific improvisations. Ragas with traditional singing and instruments are woven through the seasons of Glass in this concert. This concert is part of Amsterdam Sinfonietta and can be heard in 't Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ.
