Relationship between man and nature

With cellist Maya Fridman and HIIIT, the Netherlands Chamber Choir examines the relationship between humans and nature in this concert. As humans, we place ourselves outside of nature. But aren't we part of it ourselves? Isn't our 'culture' just 'nature'? In addition to Tormis' work, Sonnengesang by Sofia Gubaidulina for choir, cello and percussion will also be performed. In between, improvisations are performed by singers from alumni of NKK NXT, the traineeship for young professionals of the Netherlands Chamber Choir. All this with film images of the Swiss Aletsch glacier in the background, which were made especially for this production by the Swiss Laurence Bonvin.

In the introduction, Merlijn Twaalfhoven, founder of The Turn Club, inspires reflection, encourages action and, together with the audience and 2 singers from NKK NXT, he gives voice to the issue of how we as humans can and want to relate to nature.
