Imagine a piece of music made of Lego. You enjoy how beautiful it sounds, but you can also take it apart and put it back together differently. In a new order, with a new rhythm. Or keep just the one part you like and leave out the rest. That's called remixing, and in re;make, it happens live on stage at Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ. You'll also have the opportunity to create a remix yourself during the concert.

Sonic Safari: remake

During re;make , the musicians of Kluster5 and composer Remy Alexander create arrangements of music that sound different each time. They do this by repeating sections, changing melodies, or running sounds through a synthesizer. This creates entirely new music that sounds like classical music, but also like R&B or hip-hop.

Tip: Following the concert there is a Sonic Safari scavenger hunt through the entire building.
