Death Café at Tolhuistuin
A sanctuary where everyone can speak openly about death.
Death Café at Tolhuistuin
Description of the program
These meetings of a maximum of 10 people are intended as a relaxed sanctuary where everyone can speak openly about all kinds of topics surrounding death. While enjoying a cup of tea or coffee and something tasty, we can share our stories, experiences and ideas about death without fearing that others will not be open to it.
For example, it can be about grief and loss, fear of death, wishes surrounding dying, near-death experiences or supporting a loved one in the dying process. Or maybe you want to reflect on what death means to you in life. All these topics are welcome.
The conversations will be facilitated by Lieke van Nood (grief and loss counsellor) and Annie Birken (end-of-life coach and trainer). They both wish that everyone can learn to cope with illness, loss and dying. By offering Death Cafes, they want death to become more open to discussion and to be seen as part of life.
Casual atmosphere
This event is part of a series of Death Cafés in Tolhuistuin. Death Cafés emerged in the UK from a need to speak about death openly and in a casual atmosphere and are now organized all over the world.
