Tom Skinner - Voices of Bishara

London-based drummer, composer and producer Tom Skinner has been a pivotal figure in London's emerging underground music scene for 20 years. He forms the trio The Smile with Radiohead members Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood. Their debut album, 'A Light For Attracting Attention,' was received with critical acclaim in June 2022. Tom was also a member of Sons Of Kemet, a British jazz group that has now split up, but in 10 years, it has grown into one of the most important names in the lively London jazz scene.

Voices of Bishara

In 2022, Skinner also unveiled his first solo album, Voices of Bishara. It consists of six pieces for saxophone, percussion, bass, cello, and flute, which he recorded live in the same room. Tom then manipulated the recordings, using techniques such as cutting and looping to give the music a fresh and engaging vibe.

The result is a tightly woven, hypnotic and unique sound, with Voices of Bishara showcasing timeless and emotional music characterized by expansive movement and exceptional harmonic depth and texture.

During Motel Mozaïque, the drummer takes on the artist's role in residence, curating the festival for three days and performing at various locations, each with a unique and enchanting performance.
