Dance and technology come together at ICK Amsterdam

Space for Dance Art presents a program at the intersection of dance, technology, and immersive performance during Amsterdam Dance Event. The evening takes place at ICK Amsterdam, a venue where makers experiment with the boundaries of dance and performing arts. The program brings together three works that each explore the relationship between human, movement, and technology in their own way.

Public try-out of White Space by Matthias Oostrik

Matthias Oostrik presents the public try-out of his interactive installation White Space . In this work, a rotating light sculpture transforms collective movement into evolving rhythms, sound, and light. Those who participate directly influence the work. Also on view that same evening is the AI installation SMILE , in which technology converts your portrait into a nearly perfect version of yourself. The work raises questions about how technology shapes identity, beauty, and truth.

Club opera DONS: dance, song and Mozart

Robin Coops closes the program with DONS , a club opera in collaboration with ICK. The work blends dance, live vocals, and a score that combines Mozart with dark electronic music. The boundary between performer and audience blurs, and you explore themes such as masculinity, gender, and identity from a shared club experience. Are you interested?
