50 years of Oxygène : a milestone in electronic music
In 1976, Jean-Michel Jarre released his debut album Oxygène . The album changed the view of what music could be: synthesizers as a full-fledged instrument, atmosphere as a means of composition. Oxygène influenced generations of artists and helped lay the foundation for what electronic music would later become. This concert is a retrospective of that legacy, 50 years after the first release.

Jarre is performing at AFAS Live, one of Amsterdam's major concert venues, during the Amsterdam Dance Event. The concert coincides with the 30th anniversary of ADE, the international festival and platform for electronic music. This coincidence makes this performance a special moment: two anniversaries, one evening, one stage.
