The Rebirth of Mosul: Hope Amid the Rubble
Three men refuse to leave Mosul in ruins. Bashar, a fisherman, takes on the impossible task of rebuilding his family home. Fakhri, a passionate collector, salvages remnants of the city’s past in his own unique way, determined to preserve its history. His close friend Fadel, a musician once silenced by ISIS, now inspires a new generation to choose art over extremism.
As Bashar, Fakhri, and Fadel strive to breathe new life into the city with relatable humanity, we witness a cultural revival in Mosul—women reclaiming public spaces, theaters reopening, music schools emerging, and centuries-old heritage being restored. Can this 8,000-year-old city reclaim its soul?
