Pride Nieuw-West: visibility and connection in Amsterdam

Pride Nieuw-West is an annual LGBTQA+ festival in the largest district of Amsterdam. The festival increases the visibility and acceptance of the rainbow community while simultaneously connecting with other marginalized groups. The theme of the 5th edition is 'Unity': a celebration of diversity and togetherness.

What is on the program

The festival officially opens on the Sloterplasboulevard, opposite the Meervaart Theatre. Hostess Dolly Bellefleur ensures the program runs smoothly. You can enjoy drag performances, live music, performances, and speeches. Additionally, there is an information market where you can learn more about organizations active for the LGBTQA+ community.

Also for children and for a snack and a drink

Catering is provided by Cafe Vrij. For children, there is a large bouncy castle and free cotton candy. This makes the festival accessible to visitors of all ages and a fun outing for the whole family.

WorldPride Amsterdam

For the first time ever, WorldPride comes to Amsterdam. From 25 July to 8 August 2026, the city will shine in every colour of the rainbow to celebrate freedom, diversity, and love in all its forms, as the Netherlands marks 25 years since becoming the first country to legalise gay marriage.
