Festival Sacred Sounds of India

Featuring: Parvaty Baul, Ustad Sabir Sultan Khan, Ashwani Shankar, Ustad Akram Khan + Mysore Brothers. For an entire evening, Muziekgebouw aan 't IJ fills with the sounds, rhythms, and stories of India. This festival brings together classical music, dance, and ritual in a vibrant journey of discovery throughout the entire building. Singer Parvathy Baul presents the mystical Baul tradition from West Bengal, followed by an exceptional and rare interplay of sarangi (literally one hundred colors), shehnai, and tabla. The evening concludes with the virtuoso duo Mysore Brothers, figureheads of the Carnatic violin tradition, accompanied by mridangam and ghatam.
