New visions of the city
Radical City Inc. is an art and research project. Works of art are developed for the public space in Amsterdam. Lectures, workshops and bicycle tours are also part of the program.
In the project, artists, designers and architects question old ideas about what a city is. And they explore new routes to the city of the future. In this city, people, flora and fauna, the environment, objects and architecture form one system that is in balance.
Exhibition
At the accompanying exhibition, Living in the Radical City Inc., you can see the results of a year and a half of research and work on art and design works for public spaces in Amsterdam. From the floating gardens of the Otterdam project in the Westerpark to large sculptural works of art by Natasja Alers in which endangered birds and insects live. Light pollution is also discussed in artworks by Mae Engelgeer and Rollo Bryant.
Transnatural
Transnatural is a cultural centre and art and design gallery. Transnatural develops projects and cultural programs in which artists and designers respond to global developments and challenges of our time.
