Mayur
For Indian food in a modern interior, go to restaurant Mayur and the adjacent lounge bar Mayur Delight in the quiet part of the Korte Leidsedwarsstraat. Mayur opened its doors in 1981 as one of the first Indian restaurants in the Netherlands.
North Indian specialties
The Sharma family has been serving North Indian specialties according to traditional recipes here for years. For example, the meat has been in a spicy marinade for 24 hours before it goes into the tandoor (wood oven). Only the extensive wine and champagne list and the interior with lots of velvet and wood are Western.
Halal, vegetarian, vegan?
It's all possible. Mayur serves special menus for groups with dietary requirements.
