Takuya Nakamura

From Tokyo to the world stages

Takuya Nakamura grew up in Tokyo and left for the United States in 1990 to study at the New England Conservatory of Music. There he took lessons from the legendary jazz theorist and composer George Russell . That training laid the foundation for his profound knowledge of jazz theory and composition, which can still be heard in his music.

Collaborating with big names

After his studies, Nakamura settled in New York, where he quickly found his place in the vibrant jazz and jungle scene. He collaborated with names such as Quincy Jones , David Byrne , and Arto Lindsay . These collaborations took him to recording sessions and stages worldwide and shaped his versatile musical style.

Jazz and electronics on stage
