nykolaes & Daniël Paul + support: Targus Aims

Belgische boogie

nykolaes and Daniël Paul are two Brussels-based artists who work on music separately, but also together. In 2023, they released their first album “neofolk”, which was received with praise in the underground scene. In 2026, they return with a new, home-recorded album titled: “Jeudi Matin”.

nykolaes & Daniël Paul both bring their own style to the project: nykolaes’ grungy 90s-influenced, pro-post-anti-singer-songwriter-modernism and Daniël Paul’s intimate, wide-eyed lo-fi-mumble-folk.

Together, they bring softly sung songs that combine guitar, homemade instruments, and simple electronic elements, with vocal performances that harmoniously fall in and out of tune, tuned to their own liking. Expect uplifting grunge, backward folk, playful drone, disarming lyrics in Dutch, French, and English. Never stuck in a tape loop, singing the circular saw, respectful covers of … we shall see …
