New Year's Concert 2026 - Netherlands Wind Ensemble

Traditionally, the Netherlands Wind Ensemble rings in the new year with a grand musical celebration from the Concertgebouw. Featuring the most beautiful musical stories from all corners of the globe and, of course, the young winners of the annual Composition Competition once again this year. A performance full of captivating music that brings camaraderie, hope, comfort, and inspiration. This year, the New Year's Concert will be televised on January 1st by BNNVARA.

The Netherlands Wind Ensemble (NBE) is a group of musical adventurers who constantly push the boundaries of music and performance, with theatrical elements playing a crucial role. Always seeking surprising collaborations with musicians from diverse cultures and unique combinations with other disciplines, the NBE creates innovative programs that surprise, move, and challenge.

The Composition Competition

For many years, the NBE Composition Competition has proven its strength, serving as a springboard for young composition talent in the Netherlands. Young composers collaborate with arrangers to learn how to arrange for the NBE. After this composers' weekend and a thrilling finale, the winning composers will perform with the NBE in the New Year's Concert.
