The Hoofdstadkoor sings the other St. Matthew Passion! While Johann Sebastian Bach may be the most important composer of our time, in the 18th century Telemann was clearly the most important. His St. Matthew Passion, from 1730, tells the Passion story in a lively dialogue between choir and soloists. The chorales and arias are lighter in tone, but the story is nevertheless dramatic and compelling.
