Maarten Koningsberger

Maarten Koningsberger's international song career is characterized by a wide variety of styles; his farewell recital will also span four centuries of song art. He has sung dozens of times in the Concertgebouw, but his recitals have taken him all over the world, from the Carnegie Hall in New York to the Baxter Concert Hall in Cape Town. He has also recorded about thirty CDs, most of which are songs, with works by Dowland, Purcell, Beethoven, Schubert, Schumann, Brahms, Mahler and Ravel, among others.

Special line-up

During this recital, Maarten Koningsberger is surrounded by a group of Dutch musicians with whom he has performed extensively during his career: Ed Spanjaard, Roger Braun, Kelvin Grout and Bas Verheijden (piano); Jeremy Bass and Fred Jacobs (lute and theorbo); Esther Steenbergen (guitar); Olga Franssen (fifth bass guitar); Pieter-Jan Belder (harpsichord); the Brisk Recorder Quartet, the Matangi String Quartet and The Atlantic Trio.
