Jazz with a fresh perspective: Opus Kaleidoskopus

The National Youth Jazz Orchestra (NJJO) presents Opus Kaleidoskopus : a program that blends jazz with influences from hip-hop, classical music, and world music. Artistic Director Reinier Baas, guitarist, composer, and multiple Edison Award winner, guides sixteen young talents in a two-year coaching program. The result is a fresh and danceable sound that pushes the boundaries of jazz.

A varied program with special guests

The program features compositions by progressive artists such as Fuensanta, Petter Eldh, Genevieve Artadi, and Misha Mengelberg, complemented by new arrangements of Baas's own work. Drummer Jamie Peet performs as a special guest. He is an established name in the Dutch jazz and hip-hop scene and has previously toured with Gregory Porter and Kris Bowers.
