Violin and cello: an unusual combination
Violist Fadi Farkouh and cellist Qusai Naim met in Damascus, where they played in Opera orchestras. Now they both live in the Netherlands and form a duo. What makes this concert special is the instrumentation: this music is rarely heard played by violin and cello alone. Yet, with these closely related string instruments, the two musicians create a rich and varied sound palette.
Oriental, Arabic, Turkish and Gypsy music
Fadi Farkouh and Qusai Naim explore music from Eastern, Arabic, Turkish, and Gypsy traditions together. They perform their own arrangements and improvisations. Their program reflects both the richness of these musical traditions and their personal artistic voice, shaped by years of friendship and shared musical experiences.
