Schubert's beloved Trout Quintet bursts with joie de vivre, melodic inventions and playful surprises. In five movements, he paints a richly tonal landscape full of lightness and lyricism, culminating in the variations on his song Die Forelle – a musical gem full of sparkling colours and fresh energy. Beforehand, we will listen to a selection from Glass' Metamorphosis for solo piano and violin and piano. Glass enchants with his tranquil power and repetitive layering. Two composers, centuries apart, but both masters at capturing emotion in repetition and variation. Let yourself be taken on a musical journey from clear classical to meditative minimalism – unexpectedly related, surprisingly connecting.
