The Ruckers harpsichord was the showpiece of its time. The Ruckers family from Antwerp is still known as the most famous harpsichord builders of the Low Countries; their instruments set the standard in Europe for nearly two centuries. With two manuals and contrasting registers, players on these instruments could quickly switch between different timbres, for example between a fuller and a softer register for the 'forte' and 'piano' effects prescribed by Bach in some works. Maori plays a modern replica, built in Amsterdam.

Maayan Licht, sopranista

A sopranista is a male soprano, one of the rarest voice types of our time. Handel and Vivaldi wrote their most prominent arias for this voice type. Maayan Licht has dedicated his career to this repertoire, in which historical performance practice is combined with a lively and highly virtuosic singing style. The program alternates solo works for harpsichord with arias that showcase the brilliance, theatrical power, and technical refinement of Baroque vocal art.
