Harmonieorkest Groot Excelsior and Gospel Choir Deliverance will present a swinging and soulful program full of well-known Christmas and gospel songs. You can even sing along to some of the songs!

40-member choir

The Harmonieorkest Groot Excelsior organizes an annual Christmas concert in the Westerkerk. They invite a different choir each year. This creates a surprising collaboration between choir and orchestra each year, with a different Christmas program each time.

This year, the orchestra is collaborating with Gospel Choir Deliverance, which has been singing American Black Gospel with R&B and soul influences for 20 years. The 40-member choir is a three-part, soulful, vibrant, and swinging ensemble.

Harmonieorkest Groot Excelsior, consisting of 50 wind and percussion players, has adapted its repertoire to the choir and will accompany the choir in a number of gospel numbers, but will also play a number of swinging Christmas songs.
