Berget Lewis
Berget Lewis's versatility in soul, pop, and gospel touches many hearts. She is now one of the country's best-known singers, but her beginnings were modest. In 1998, she founded her own group: The Berget Lewis Gospel Train. Gospel is essential to Berget. As a fifteen-year-old, she toured America with it. In everything—her career, her music, and her personal life—she carries her faith with her, and gospel and soul music form the foundation of her musical journey. This journey has brought her many highlights. Her three solo albums, successful theater tours, being crowned the best female singer in the Netherlands in the TV hit De Beste Zangers ( The Best Singers), the leading role in the musical Dreamgirls (Dreamgirls ), the role of Maria in The Passion (The Passion ), and of course, as one of the leading ladies in the Ziggo spectacle The Ladies of Soul. Berget has shared the stage with international artists such as Van Morrison, David Foster, Mavis Staples, and Eros Ramazzotti. Berget has previously shone on the stage of the Main Hall of the Concertgebouw with, among others, the ZO! Gospel Choir, the Metropole Orchestra, and the Jazz Orchestra of the Concertgebouw.
Musical friends
For this concert, Berget has invited several of her closest musical friends. She has previously enjoyed collaborating with comedian, presenter, actor, and singer Richard Groenendijk on The Passion, Secret Duets , and Karin Bloemen's Licht-In-Dagen Kerst-Bal (Light-In-Dark-Days Christmas Ball) . Combining laughter with the occasional tear is what Groenendijk elevates to a true art form in his cabaret shows and TV appearances. Singer and drummer Marlon Pichel has quickly conquered more and more hearts and is known as the "upcoming king of rock and roll." This musician through and through is armed with a powerful, soulful voice. His debut album was released in 2023. Inspired by the greats like Otis Redding and Wilson Pickett, he takes you back in time to the 1960s and 1970s.
