Charlotte Spruit & Angus Webster - Brahms

The "Jonger Nederlanders" series at the Concertgebouw focuses on presenting young, homegrown musical talents. This edition features violinist Charlotte Spruit and pianist Angus Webster. Together they perform music from various stylistic periods, from Dowland to Brahms, Debussy, and Beamish. Brahms takes centre stage with his "First Sonata" and "Nachklang" from "Lieder und Gesänge."

Charlotte Spruit

She performs as a soloist and chamber musician, but Charlotte Spruit also enjoys blending art forms. She has collaborated with Jérémie Queyras, the two combining music and painting on stage. Spruit graduated in London and has won numerous awards. Her performing partners include musicians such as Janine Jansen, Rachel Podger, Gidon Kremer, and Tabea Zimmermann. In Amsterdam, she collaborates with pianist Angus Webster. The musicians perform music from the last five centuries.

Young Dutch people

The "Jonger Nederlanders" perform exciting and varied programs. The musicians, appearing in the Recital Hall, perform works that are close to their hearts, meant to challenge both the players and the listeners. The audience will hear music from all stylistic eras, from the Baroque and Romantic periods to contemporary music.
